Jodi Erlandsen is an accomplished attorney with over twenty years of experience providing legal and regulatory advice to traditional and alternative investment advisers, private funds and other investment vehicles, broker-dealers and other financial services firms in the US and abroad.

Professional Background

Ms. Erlandsen has worked in global asset management since 1998.

At ING Investment Management, Ms. Erlandsen grew her role from a paralegal in 1998 to that of Chief Legal Officer and Head of Compliance for ING Investment Management International, a subsidiary of ING’s Eurasian asset management business with multiple US locations.

As CLO and Head of Compliance for ING IM Int’l, Ms. Erlandsen designed and implemented an SEC-compliant legal, compliance and corporate governance framework and a new human resources platform for a $10 billion US asset management subsidiary. In addition to legal, compliance and administration, as an interim arrangement, local business management roles including HR and IT reported to Ms. Erlandsen.

During her time with ING US, Ms. Erlandsen was heavily involved with regulatory matters, filings, compliance and exams, the formation and operation of US and offshore funds, corporate governance, privacy and data protection, the negotiation of a broad span of contracts including investment management and sub-advisory agreements, service agreements, license agreements, purchase and sales agreements, brokerage and trading agreements, and solicitation, sales and distribution agreements. She focused on institutional investor matters in both the equity and fixed income spaces and also worked closely with business development and client relations teams on product development, marketing and sales matters, review of marketing materials and AIMR/GIPS compliance. In 2008, Ms. Erlandsen spent several months on a foreign assignment with the corporate legal department at ING’s headquarters based in The Netherlands.

Ms. Erlandsen lived in Peru during high school and speaks fluent Spanish.

Education

Ms. Erlandsen received her B.A. from Cornell University (1996), her MPA from Columbia University (1998) and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law (2005).

Professional Memberships and Admisssions

Ms. Erlandsen is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut. She is a member of the Investment Adviser Association, Connecticut Hedge Fund Association, 100 Women in Finance, New York County Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and the Bar Association of Erie County, New York. From 2014 until 2019, Ms. Erlandsen served on the Board of Directors of the Service Program for Older People, Inc., a New York-based non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of adults age 55 and older through the delivery of comprehensive mental health and related supportive services.
